The university of Tohoku and NFC have now declared that they will develop the world’s first Content Addressable Memory or CAM which will quite be able to maintain the same high operations speed as well as a non volatile operations as existing on the circuit, even it will be able to process as well as store the data while the power is off. So this technology could be used one day in order to build up electronics which will quite be able to start instantly as well as consume zero electricity even in standby mode also.
Circuits also draw its power while they are on standby, but this has always created a problem. Also in the resent few years the usage of this Information and Communication Technology or ICT equipment has been steadily increased due to the rapidly incensement of Clod Computing. Though most of the existing equipment always requires a short period of time in order to get started as well as the internal circuit also remain active whenever the equipment is in standby mode. So, as a result this growing of the consumption of power by the ICT equipment in the standby mode has now been a serious concern.
Though in this new technology NFC teaches us about the two way key features, the CAM is now nonviolent while it is maintaining a high speed as well as it always use a half of the area in the circuit for comparison for the existing technology. This new CAM can be said a part of the spintoronics logic integrated circuit which always utilizes the navigation properties of the electrons together with taking help of its magnetic movement. So it leverages all the vertical magnetization of the vertical domain wall elements in reaction to the magnitude of the substance for enabling the data which is processing within the CAM in order to store on a circuit without using any power.
So if that jargon even missed really with your head, still the data can -be saved on the circuit even the power is cut from the CAM. NFC and Tohoku University also plan to announce their latest result on 17th June 2011.
