There is an old saying “Prepared yourself for the Worst and Hope for the Best”.  This saying certainly fits the Texas police chiefs as his account got hacked by hackers on Thursday.  The cyber attack reveals the vulnerability of the state’s top cops.

The popular group Anonymous declares that they are hackers responsible for the “Texas Takedown Thursday.”  In all, there are 25 email accounts from the Texas Police chiefs association got posted and exposed online.

Anonymous explained that the attack is because the fact that police harass immigrant and use border patrol operations to cover their racist operation.

Annonymous said that many of their friends got sent to jail were mostly innocent.  No police officials not that innocent.  They are going to keep on harassing the police by leaking private data to the general public.

The group positioned 3 gigabytes of email on an unknown server and announced the racist email to or from officers.

Among the official, who got harassed by the group was Friendswood Police Chief Bob Wieners.  Wieners.   Claims that the Yahoo account are more than three years ago.  The email has the subject line “Stupid Bitch”.

The letter says that the stupid woman, who leads the car chase, got what she deserves for starting a car chase with the police.  The letter then added that Wieners believes that the woman is fat and black.

The Chief never admitted anything about the email.

When Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott got asked late Friday regarding the breach, the spokesman for the Attorney General just said that they can not comment on an ongoing investigation.

Philip Hilder, a Houston defense attorney and ex-federal prosecutor, said the group’s members could be put on trial under Texas or federal laws that prohibit unlawful access to computer systems.

James McLaughlin, executive director of the Texas Police Chiefs Association, said his group found out that their website got hacked around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.  Few hours have passed following the time that Anonymous spend into the website and apparently retrieved a list of members of the members.  The said list also contains personal and professional email letters from members.

It was too late, when the McLaughlin’s group got aware of the attack, some police chiefs’ account got already hacked by the group Anonymos, the group then all the in information that they found on their site.

The hacking issue has raised the question about the readiness of police when it comes to cyber attack.
