New Assignment For Online Game Players – Star Wars: The Old Republic

Bioware and EA have declared today the releasing date of their massively multi-player online role playing game, Star Wars: The Old republic – that on the other hand can be abbreviated as SWTOR ,which was already announced at an invitation-only basis on 21st October 2008. The SWTOR is going to make its official debut on 20th December 2011 in North America and two days later on 22nd December 2011 in Europe. The announcement took place in the Eurogamers Expo at Early Court, London. This will be the Bioware’s first entry in MMORGP market. Although they have been waiting for a long time to work on a MMORGP, they waited for the right partners and team.

The time line of the story is described as more than 3,500 years before the events seen in the fictional Star War films and at least 300 years after the Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic games when a feeble situation of peace took place between the Galactic Empire and Sith Empire. The game begins with the outbreak of new conflicts. It has been quoted by the Bioware that the game will carry on a significant mark of the story line of Star Wars: The Old Republic – Threat of Peace and Star Wars: The Old Republic – Blood of The Empire. It has been confirmed at the company’s side that the opportunity to customize the characters will be open to the players and they players will also be able to visit a number of virtual planets including Korriban, Ord Mentell, Tatooine, Taris, Corellia etc. The company had also announced in the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2010 that every player will get personal starship.

The game has three editions, namely Collectors, Digital Deluxe and Standard. For the customers sake the game is coming in three subscription models of $ 14.99/month, $ 41.97/three months and $ 77.94/six months. Expectedly pre orders come with special early access to the game. EA announced that over 200000 reservations were made in just six days since the first day of pre order, which is the highest number of pre order in EA’s history.

Bioware has also set up a new call center for 24 Hour online support for those who are purchasing the new game title.
