Qualcomm’s Snapdragon mobile chipsets are already incorporated in number of Android and Windows Phone but Mr. Paul Jacobs believes that it is also suitable for new generation of laptops inspired by the smartphones. We often have to carry our laptops if we are going anywhere but most of the laptops are just troublesome to carry. Their weight plus the big chargers for them really make unbearable loads. From this the idea of a laptop with the portability facility of a smartphone and the other facilities of a laptop with a comparatively large screen than that of a smartphone arises.

Mr. Paul Jacobs has informed that the company will appear with the new lines of next gen laptops and PC’s in 2013. In the beginning of the week Nokia executive declared their Windows 8 based tablets to come in the middle of 2012. The latest windows based smartphone Lumia 8 of the Finnish mobile manufacturing company is already powered by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset.

Jacobs has also asserted that Windows 8’s special feature to be connected to cloud even in a standby mode give the PCs and tabs a smartphone like feel.
