Lenovo has revealed its latest tablet based on Android technology. The price is surprisingly low at $199. The features of the tablet are some of the best among Android tablets that are priced below $200. The image clarity of the device is good with 1024×600 pixels. The gadget sports a touch screen.

The tablet is called IdeaPad A1. The other tablets have all reduced their prices in the recent past. While Hewlett Packard slashed rate of its tablet by $99, Apple has brought the rate down to lower than $499. According to analysts, if Amazon can offer a tablet for lower than $300, it will be able to grab a significant share of the market.

This new tablet by Lenovo will be based on Android’s tablet operating system Gingerbread, which is the latest Android offering. The size of the tablet is another of its attractions. It is significantly slim at 0.47 inches. The weight is 0.88 pounds. However, the tablet runs on a single core processor rather than the current favorite dual core. The processor is 1 GHz Cortex A8. The gadget also sports two cameras, one facing towards the front and the other at the back. Both the cameras have a screen resolution of 3 mega pixel, which is a decent offering if not great. This can be an added advantage for certain apps like face recognition. GOS receiver has been provided in the gadget.

IdeaPad will have a 2 gigabyte internal storage capacity, in addition to a card slot for microSD provision that can increase the memory by up to 32 gigabytes. The features are attractive and comprehensive for a tablet in this range.
